Am I good enough to try out the half-pipe?

I have been snowboarding for about 3 seasons (5 or 6 different trips). I am comfortable going down the mountain with speed and comfortable carving. I have tried the terrain park a couple time taking a few small jumps and boxes (although I do often fall trying this).

I really want to try out the half pipe but am scared of injuring myself. Is it too soon to try it out? What progression would you recommend to work up to it (what should I be practicing) so that I can safely try out the halfpipe for the first time? Thank you.
